Abstract
Women have played a long and important role in engineering. In the UK, the Women's Engineering Society was founded in 1919, but even before then there are examples of women working in engineering roles. The first video in our series examining the key themes in the history of women in engineering looks at how women collaborated in lots of different ways to support each other and find their place in the male-dominated engineering industry. Produced by Research Retold for the Electrifying Women project (University of Leeds). Presented by Dr Emily Rees (University of Leeds). Script written by Emily Rees and Graeme Gooday.
