Abstract
In 2015, three workshops took place, in which musicians and scholars from across the world discussed potential high-level narratives for a future exhibition on science, technology and music. This document holds photos of the first workshop, ‘Silence and Music’, held at the Royal College of Music from 25 to 26 February 2015. This workshop proposed that silence is the ‘absolute zero’ of both music and acoustics. It explored the idea that modern ‘quiet’ music is a response to industrial modernity.
