Abstract
Science City 1550–1800: The Linbury Gallery, which opened in 2019, explores the science of early modern London, showcasing the scientific instrument collections of the Science Museum, Kings College London and the Royal Society.
This text is from an exhibit in the form of a printed book, that showcases and interprets some of the illustrations from Robert Hooke’s Micrographia. Published in 1665, Micrographia was an account of Hooke’s experiments into microscopy, conducted while he was Curator of Experiments at the Royal Society.
