    BT Archives Catalogue
    (2025)
    Science Museum Group
This is a meta-dataset which describes a sub-set of BT Archives’ holdings and was generated on the fly by James Elder, BT Group Archivist, on the request of Daniel Wilson, and provided to Congruence Engine on 17 February 2023. The sub-set in question was determined after discussions between Daniel Wilson, James Elder and Anne Archer to include material which is BOTH ‘open’ AND ‘digital’. This means material which has been cleared by Anne Archer (Head of Heritage and Archives) for public release and which also exists in digital form (i.e., according to the catalogue, which has a digital surrogate of some kind). ‘Digital’ could mean ‘born digital’, but is most likely to mean that it was digitised as part of the JISC programme undertaken c.2013 in collaboration with Coventry University. The items described include both text and image documents. The dataset consists of an XML file of c.146Mb and contains 58,732 rows, each of which should correspond to an item. This file was exported from BT’s Calm/Axiell database on the above date, but it should be noted that the database is in a constant state of change.
